    Spectrum Goggles

Since Broken glasses seem to have become more common maybe the Goggles would be a good candidate to drop from Firebrands or Elderwraiths?
  2. On a scale of 1-10, what would you say are the chances for each of these to be added? Fantasy Theme Park (with or without the bosses) Neo city (I dont think that GMS got this until after Big bang but I think KMS got it a little earlier?) The Visitors event

    Version .79

Warp cards buyable in Omega Sector saves loads of travel time for a few quests. The Malady Witch belts are quite good although one has to carefully consider how much risk to take if you want to try and upgrade it. If you do not want to fool around with the field bosses respawn and have completed the quests in Korean folk town then their items can be used to summon the Mountain Goblins. The Goblin monsters do not drop a lot of Dark tokens but they do usually drop at least 1 per kill. Of course this method is limited by the npc's only making more items a few times a day.
  4. Depending on your system, the antivirus may have a reaction to some of the game files almost instantly in certain cases. You can try physically allowing the file and then trying the patcher again, although it might take a few attempts.
  5. The dreaded eliminate 999 quests return!

    Spectrum Goggles

Or even better, what about making them more obtainable? Like adding them as a drop to one of the local mobs or maybe adding them somewhere in the badge exchange?
  7. Maybe more so for Reverse. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure that the Timeless and Reverse gears came in the first patch of ToT. Except maybe from boss drops or something. Hmm..
  8. For starters, you can get an easy speed cape in Magatia from the Brokers quest around level 30 or 35. And all it takes is a few ores and mesos!
  9. Sounds like you almost described something close to Maker. Though I will agree that the random number drops keeps things interesting. (almost to the point of absurdity)

    add gachapon

I'm not sure about the tickets dropping but I can agree with maybe doing something with Gachapon. Say what you will about the system, it does provide a way to make mesos. Would it be possible to block the most over powered or broken items? It might be controversial but in theory some "merchant" type players might only participate just for the economy.
  11. While I was looking at some of the discussion about new players, it gave me a few ideas. I forget exactly when they arrived or how difficult it would be to add but the Knights could be an alternative for some people. Long ago I believe it was the case that Cygnus knights got outclassed eventually by adventurers and I would be curious to find out how they would compare on Phoenix. Also it adds more story about the lead up to the Black Mage without actually going too far. Furthermore it could give players some more rankings to race for. I recall there being a hall of fame type room on Ereve although I'm not sure when it stopped functioning properly on the global game. The Knights of Cygnus were strong early on but also limited by their max level.
  12. I wanted to briefly mention how the game looks at a glance. During my time I also thought of some pro's and con's to think about. Above all else though, I like to give thanks for keeping the spirit of Old school Maplestory from disappearing. Con's - Maybe too much authenticity? With few mob drops coming in, mesos can get drained fast. I remember being poor way back when and playing here highlighted some of the spots where it can be tough to make money. Also, I laugh a little on the inside at how some of the quests can become hell versions when your character is still weak. - No 4th job This kind of goes both ways,. I'm not sure if its a good idea to remove some goal posts but there are reasons for it, so I shrug. - Slow paced late game I'm not sure what people would consider late game by todays standards? Not counting quests, Maplestory from years ago started to get grindy after a while either way. I can only imagine how things could be past level 100 and beyond. Pro's - A faithful recreation of Old school Maplestory for the most part. With a certain number of modern add on's, I think players can forget the better aspects of an rpg platformer. Like mobs that can actually damage novices. - Very affordable store permits Mesos still feel like they are in short supply but its nice to see different visions of the Free market. - 3rd job only I think there could be potential in keeping with this route but it could also do more damage than intended too. Then again advanced classes also get less balanced over time as well. So I don't have strong feelings on it one way or the other. Regardless of minor tweaks, I like Phoenix because it is helping to preserve a style of game that can drive people crazy. If it was not fun then nobody would have played it, not then nor now..
