Potions are double price?

I felt like I was struggling harder than my original time playing maplestory as a kid and I figured out why. It's the fact that shop prices are double! no wonder I couldn't keep up with the costs as a new player. My question is why are shop prices double? My opinion is this makes the game unnecessarily more difficult for a newcomer just trying to enjoy their old version of maplestory. The game is difficult as it is with how long it takes to level so why the extra weights on our ankles?

I'm sorry I'm a complete moron... that's the selling price. I guess I just suck lol. Also I mispelled my name and I can't change it. Could you maybe change it to Camelman? I'm just full of mistakes T_T

Mana elixirs are 620 meso for me. Blue potions are 200 meso. I remember both being half price, and the pre-big bang sites confirm that.
