Most new players are going to quit at some point or another (if it was level 50 in osm, its lvl 30 in peenix), most likely earlier than later on, because of how hard it is already to level/obtain items/population These buffs, even tho reallly OP, help the other section of the spectrum in terms of "how hard i want this game to be?", people might quit after the events/buffs because they might feel underpowered after them, or they might keep playing because they commited enough time after them to keep enjoying the game. Nexon liked to put a lot of power into events too, and it looks like their item design favored players having an easier time leveling a new character (like level 10 gloves would be the ones used ones even at highest level, benefits people making alts too). Maybe im overstimating them trusting in their game balance / game design ideas, but I like how events work in maple somewhat. Also, if these were taken out of the event, then something should be added to compensate people not going to X event, or they would all be dead, even more considering how tryhards some people might be that wont even touch an event unless it gives an op reward

The power of the cape wouldnt go away that easily probably, considering +300 HP is really desireable at higher level, you can add points in your secondary stats to compensate and it would be worth because at least you can swap those, but there's no way to get that +hp from anywhere else I feel the issue lies in how gearing works, people wont get hp helm when you can use zhelm, and for example earrings hp dont feel that much worth (and you have to spend money while that cape is unscrolled +HP), and thats why in other servers that require HP and dont have wash anymore, add those stats from rings mostly, because its the least affected slot I dont know how one could get buffed without making the other outdated.... unless the +hp was higher (???) to make it more niche, and the other stronger in terms of dps for when the +hp is not needed, but I dont know enough to know in how many situations you would need that gear to make it in a somewhat balanced state, and a sick +att cape would just be a fake PaC wouldnt it?

The idea of Onyx apple and other shit so nerfed should have been to make crusader not obsolete in mind, yet leafre buff was added and can be abused to farm at low level in Victoria Island with the seed portal, so it makes rage obsolete in Vic Island and Leafre content 94 is an issue on how mobs spawn instead of having to move around the map, being able to afk in one map, idk if i would call it "nerf" when it shouldnt have been possible in the first place, OP af place 😞 The ludibrium cape is a really fucking good idea that shows that Arnah is open to do custom stuff, yet no more of these have been done. ???? Self explanatory, like the shop pricing, its something enjoyable. You can just change the shop price to higher so its the same ratio, but we can buy more cute items. And few reasons to vote 1x rates/population. I dont think exp rates need to be changed, but real GMS had 2x cards + 2x events + 100x more players than a private server will ever have. Hardcore players were used to 2x exp instead of 1x, but also events (wink wink). Less gear + that, implies that how strong players are in terms of gear is, on average, lower. Not only that but we dont have PaC, lv 64 weps, maybe BWGS wont come either etc. I think some things should be done with that in mind, if not adding those items, rising scroll droprate or something (?).

OPQ buff not really viable to use outside OPQ unless you farm in areas close to Orbis. Leafre buff should ALWAYS be taken if you're farming at Leafre. Buff is done every 32 minutes at Dragon Forest 2 map, with 1 hour duration, you'll have 4 minutes to travel to DF2 and get it again.

I think that stuff like BWGs (its only 2 slots wtf) and other stuff should come, lv 64 aniv weapons not really because its too huge of a difference, but changing their level requirement to high level so they are not as insane for low levels, or making it hard to getfrom boss drops painus / papulatus / zakum, so there's even more of a reason to go bossing Is it powercreep? hell yeah it is, fuck, its an mmorpg, stronger things should come that are better than the previous ones, its about balancing how OP is too OP (cider? maybe pac is too op cuz even if u fail all scrolls u would use it? its powercreep for sure, but PaC is an iconic item in any case? )

Buff grims & other Deep Ludi content With grims, making priest have more places to farm aside from himes, nostalgic reasons, also they drop CFA 10% which will always one of the, if not the most, desired scroll in the game The rest of deep ludi content got outdated really fast, it fits that everything is a little better, even more if we plan on keep being a 3rd job server, people love this place 2. Raise NX per vote by at least 200 or more This a cute fashion game, there's no reason why it should be so low, it helps retaining players that just want to dress up too 3. More events We all like events, and chairs only avaiable in events ? Well, its a way to keep players together having fun. Some people dont care about events unless it has good rewards, then good rewards could be added 4. Buff OPQ Noone does this PQ, have a reason to do it 5. Allow Omon in the FM Why are Chalkboards allowed but not omok? People can just AFK annoying with notes, so its not to make players happy in the FM for sure Proof that Arnah has a hard-on for GMS like instead of FUN If its problematic in the future, disable it The only one less agreeable is #1, the rest im pretty sure everyone is ok with it (even the people that dont really care about events wont care if there are some unless they are really butthurt. Im not talking about 2x exp/ 2x drops )

Long ass time commitment to get blue pots 2 times in a row, white pots and then overall def scroll, and then another 10 OPQ with literally shit reward Its clearly longer than LPQ and KPQ yet there's no reason to want to mule it compare to the others, not only that, also less players reach that level so it will never be as popular as the other 2 regardless of how long it is. exp is mediocre, and its fine, but make it give decent rewards, also server would be really happy with more scrolls in the market

Also Im by no means any kind of high level here, I love doing research and balance ideas/suggestions with the purpose of making the game more fun/fair/whatever. Sorry for any english mistakes I personally dont know anymore if Arnah wants to add 4th job or not, but the game has been trying to make the game as least custom as possible for the sake of nostalgia, but there's a few good, bad and meh changes compared to GMS. Good would be no HP washing, Meh would be no gachapon (it gives a lot to the economy, but would need to be considered how it would be done), and bad would be the GMS droprates, because a private server will never achieve as many players as real gms There's a few others, but I'll talk mostly about this issues and others that not everyone has to agree with, since Im just trying to give ideas, also depends on what are the plans for 4th job in the near future. This has been a server that offers, unlike others in the past years, not only 3rd job, but a server that has been alive enough to see the POSSIBLE release of 4th. Some people would only want 3rd job, some others want 4th. "But why would you want 4th when you can go servers like Legends?" Because of the previous points, making HP washing the most important one of them, classes like DK are not as OP thanks to Berserk with 30k HP, and hermits with 30k HP is an even more retarded concept. So this is a motivation on why people would want to play here instead of other 4th job servers (tho 1x is hardcore etc etc), and later we would have to talk about ultimates and how bishop/mage rule everything because no CD ultimate, but this is a topic for another post related mostly about 4th. So, now that we've talked about why 4th could be a posibility that wouldn't be that negative, lets talk about the 3rd job meta and how maplestory is structured now with Leafre content, because I'm pretty sure a lot of people want 3rd job. Maplestory content has always made the previous content pretty outdated as soon as a new area appeared, better drops, better loot, better maps, all by a huge margin. That's not what is happening at this moment, players just cant farm as properly in that content as Aqua content, may it be because the class kit doesnt allow, or the cost is just too insanely high. This doesnt happen to the same extent to F/P because of how that class was designed, it was never nowhere as strong in real maple, not only maps being full of people, but players didnt actually know how OP it was, and even if it did, they couldnt abuse to the extent its possible in private server settings. How can we fix Leafre content to be better for the rest of the classes without 4th? SOLUTION 1: Flat % HP nerf to all Leafre mobs. It doesnt change anything for F/P, or its even a nerf if the maps the F/P is grinding at is active. I really like this change because we dont have things like PAC / BWG / Others , making classes really weak to what they really were originally when Leafre was released in GMS, people had insane gear compared to private server standards. SOLUTION 2: Change how the defense formula works. For those not aware, the defense formula isnt as simple as "Damage - Defense = DMG dealt" when you take a hit. It considers your class, your level and your defense. Warriors are more tanky with gear and HP, so they get dealt more damage thanks to this formula. Meanwhile Mages get dealt the least. I think we can already see the issue with this, but a lukless cleric with level 11 top and bottom might get dealt less damage than a warrior with lv 80 overall. This can also be fixed with a defense/attack value change in Leafre mobs, but the main issue would still be there. MELEE SUFFER TOO MUCH IN LEAFRE compared to other classes. disclaimer: Im not sure if Arnah can even change the formula if its in the client or how the fuck it works. In other server with older versions (MapleBeta / MapleGlobal (TOV) ) it worked the simple way as in "damage-defense = dmg dealt" and allowed, for example, a warrior to stack so much armor he got dealt 1 damage. That's not possible at some point of the versions. Defense formula has been the same way since the start of the server. edited: Somewhat Solution 0: Make everyone stronger, add scrolls 30% weapon scrolls would powercreep the weapons by a lot, also extra scrolls, it has been mentioned in other post by dugtrio https://forum.playphoenix.ca/topic/514-adding-new-types-of-scrollsgear-to-the-game-on-leafre-patch/ but the lack of gearing is also unfun, gacha would add scrolls to the market, higher droprates, 2x drop events, etc. MEDIOCRE SOLUTION 1: Give a BUFF that give stats in Leafre too custom? MEDIOCRE SOLUTION 2: Higher DropRates - Lower Exp Making Leafre content not about exp, but about drops, would make it desireable if you want gear (scrolls?) EXTRA TOPIC ❤️ GOBI Coma hits exactly 6 mobs. Avenger hits exactly 6 mobs. Etc. This is not a fix to leafre for sure, but gobi is perfect for small aoe skills, and leafre content with huge maps favors map wide skills from 4th job (or FP), but in a server that will always have 3rd job, gobi is just INSANE. Im sure they will ALWAYS be meta just because of the design synergizes really well with 3rd job skills EXTRA TOPIC ❤️ GOBI Aside from the gobi thing, which is really important because I want people to think about how the game design around everywhere affects what is meta, viable or not, even if its old content vs new, or why the new should and its not powercreeping enough. I would love to talk about stuff like gachapon (as meso sink most likely), 4th job balance, or how the server approaches stuff/changes, and how we need more scrolls, but that's better in a different posts. Gachapon was GMS like, the issues were mostly the droptable of the gachapon and that you have to buy it for NX so its literally p2w tbh i wouldnt mind adding gachapon as long as its for mesos and its calculated / changed enough so its not just insane items, or it could be just random shit low level but NO endgame stuff (no +70 weps/armors?) or a fun way to try to get Maple Weps when its not anniversary, idk. if it doesnt have scrolls, it has to be cheap in terms of mesos, but if there's scrolls it should be expensive as fuck for the sole purpose of it being a money sink, changing mesos for random shit/scrolls. It would require effort to modify it cuz GMS like has someshit that is only avaiable from gachapon that is Best in Slot, and while making gachapon for mesos would fix the idea of p2w, it would be pretty fucking random and i would prefer NON exclusive stuff in gachapon, but added from drops in Boss or whatever (example : Gold Emerald Earrings), but each person would prefer a different idea, some merchers would preferthose items from gach instead of pure boss if it was for mesos, i guess... tbh i really like gachapon for mesos just needs a lot of tweaks To the second point of 30% scrolls, ehmmm, they are nice its just pure powercreep tho. 30% would make stuff easier in the long run, considering that its easier to hit 3 30% than 3 10%, the issue is that a few of those items just dissapear and are never in the market, it jus devalues old stuff and makes new stuff just much more OP, tbh im not that much against 30% and 70%, tho they are busted and leave 10% obsolete, There's bigger issues with stuff like chaos scrolls compared to dark scrolls. Actually dark scrolls would be a nice boost to help people kill zakum
