Restrictions

Restrictions are one of Phoenix' custom features. Restrictions introduce new ways to play Phoenix without impacting the average player.

Restrictions allow you to change the way you play MapleStory. You can choose to make the Grind harder with 0.5x, take a risk with Hardcore, or maybe you're not interested in all those new Areas and would like to play Area Restricted. Whatever it is, hopefully Restrictions solve it. Many different restrictions exist which is why you're also able to combine them any way you like!

Ironman requires you to be a self-sufficient player. You will have to obtain every item you're dreaming of using only that character.
Ironman are blocked from Trading, Picking up drops from other players, Gaining experience from other players, Partying, Using Player Shops, Using Storage, Participating in Guild PQ, Creating a guild, and Engagements/Weddings.

0.5x Exp(Or Half Exp) reduces ALL exp gained by... 50%. Nothing special about this one except it also stacks with the Curse debuff.

Four Slots reduces your slots in every inventory to 4 with no way to expand them via CashShop or Job Advancements.

Hardcore gives you one life. Once that life is gone you're character will permanently be deleted with no way to play again.
Due to the way deleting a character is handled Hardcore players are blocked from Creating a Guild and being Engaged/Married.

Area Restricted allows you to restrict how much of the Maple World you have access to. Enabling Area Restricted prevents you from accessing anything out side of Maple Island(Tutorial) unless you specifically select Victoria Access. You also have the ability to enable Orbis & El Nath access(which includes 3rd job). Note, you can select Victoria & El Nath but you will NOT be able to access El Nath without Orbis, the same goes for other areas where you need access to the transportation method.

I have some questions about hardcore and ranking that I don't feel like testing to find out the answer to.

If a hardcore dies and gets deleted, do they lose their ranking? And, if so, is the name available again for use by others? I guess that's all really.

They will keep the rank and the name will be unavailable.
