  1. So I got an extended mute at the end of my initial mute after being unable to say anything in the first place. Arnah, if you're just screwing with me, just come out and say it. I know I'm kind of a thorn in your ass, but treating me like your plaything isn't admirable, especially when I'm trying to address this problem in a (mostly...) civil and constructive manner.
  2. Finally, the time has come to make this suggestion! Though I was hoping it would never come to this. Didn't think Arnah was a pussy lol. So, since some people insist on getting their feelings hurt, I thought I'd point to a function that already existed in original MapleStory, but which was apparently disabled so as to have a reason to mute people, (which extends to buddy chat for some reason) - the word filter! This revolutionary function, when toggled, will allow people who so choose to not see foul language, thus allowing everyone to live in peace and harmony, both the horrible racist dregs of society who aid others unconditionally, and the angelic epitomes of goodness who wouldn't think twice about seeing another man's progress utterly demolished because they said a bad word. My suggestion is simple - since the problem seems to be with one word in particular, just put it and its derivatives into the in-game language filter and activate it, while removing the rest of the originally filtered words. An even better solution would be to do either this, or just keep the original filter, and create a player function that toggles it. There, everyone's happy, except the people who want to wipe out the othes who don't share the same ideologies as themselves.

  4. Still happening, but I've noticed that a way to partially counter it is by holding the pick up button before the pet touches the mesos; probably prevents the pet from attempting to pick them up itself
  5. I'm not really in any position to offer an opinion, but the high-levels haven't yet so... I think this is a reasonable solution to the horntail problem, and may offer a little bit to counter the stagnation that some people are worried about. As you suggested, the numbers should be adjused, I'd say just enough to allow squishier classes to handle horntail, while still giving warriors and mages extra padding so that they can comfortably afk anywhere I guess. Edit: After thinking about how it might feel in terms of "old school" etc etc, I'd say it might be preferable to turn this into a buff for HP gained from AP rather than HP gained from levels. This way, people who don't want the innate HP boost can just choose not to get it.
  6. Happened again, this time it involved alt-tabbing. It's likely that it's happened for me when I've tried to use chat as well Edit: Once more, but this time it was just because I had a lag spike across my computer (I was listening to something, and when the sound broke for a second my character became uncontrollable)
  7. No
  8. Hey guuuys, name-changed super racist person here! So I've been thinking, since my name was so RUDELY(!) changed after I became attached to it (f4), and since I couldn't use my immense wealth on my ancient paypal account to attempt to become a shareholder of Phoenix, I have decided that I will continue grinding, BUT! I will hereby "ask" Arnah to eventually give me a free name change when or by the time I reach level 70 (assuming I don't die, get banned, or lose motivation due to having a gay name)! I have the audacity to make such an outrageous request because there are currently no level 70 hardcore ironmen, and I'm important. If I receive a name change, I will likely adopt a name related to seminal fluids so as to grace the rankings as is proper. Otherwise, I will destroy the world. I'd also like to challenge whoever has african-american sacks, or another diabolical method, to attempt to destroy me, maybe through concerted efforts and top-tier strategy. I have 3377 health right now but no hyper body. I was going to do this later and make it a bounty but I have no money right now 😞 - IHateNickers (currently ILovePeople, eugh)
  9. Ha, that's what I've been saying! Although I'm not sure about hermits being stronger regardless, and archers might have some complaints. I agree, and yes, I'm fond of the concept of HP builds.
  10. ye CumGuzzler69 would be cool (pls dont stel), some freak took IHatePeople someone pls fix gaypal btw
  11. change my name arnh i dont love peopl
  12. On rare occasions, my character becomes uncontrollable - I can't do anything with it, including use consumables, while it goes around moving and attacking seemingly at random. I'm a bit worried as a hardcore character, because although I can close the client to avoid a death, I might not be able to do that when fighting bosses later on (in particular, Papulatus with his 1-hp ability), and I have no idea how to fix it or what's causing it, other than maybe keys registering weirdly.
  13. That's right, this server is not for "most" people, and thank god for that. If anything, it is a haven for the remaining few, like myself, who can not exist on other servers - the ones which cater to the masses.
  14. I see you're still suggesting #3. As a staunch opponent of the "ban mania" that's like...everywhere, I'll have to say a few more things. Again, the solution isn't punishment or banishment - the solution is actually dealing with the problem in question. If there is capacity for abuse after this, counter it with a related and proportional method which removes the problem without removing the player. For example, if caught abusing, that person's heal experience or even heal ability could be temporarily disabled (I'm not sure how difficult that would be to implement, but I imagine the current XP nerf could be adjusted to affect individual people only). You could even stop their experience gain for a while, or even take out some experience/levels. Whatever advantage they may have gained from abusing is now negated. "Abusers" are also members of our community, they aren't faceless masses of sin and malice, and a community doesn't generally exile its members unless they've severely transgressed - which a bug/game mechanic abuser hasn't.
  15. That actually sounds like a potentially good idea, +1 from me although I might regret it later for some weird reason
  16. Alright here's the thing - a 1x server isn't meant to attract a large crowd or be competitive with other servers - it is a place for a more "niche" set of people, and should not cater to the masses, as that is exactly the sort of thing that ruins it. Regardless of the inconveniences that we have, or maybe in part because of them, we want to play here, like this. In an odd way, the website actually attracted me - it made it apparent that the server isn't all frilled up and made me think that it may be more concerned with content over presentation. I was right. My next step was to take a look at the rules where I noticed that they are more like guidelines rather than the legal constitutions that other "popular" servers sicken me with. Thus I decided to test whether this is one of them pansy servers with my in-game name. As it turns out, it's not, and if Arnah shifts his focus to server popularity, his mindset may instead become twisted in an attempt to satisfy the rampaging hordes. NX through experience actually sounds worse the more I think about it. People should level for the reasons they did in old-school maple, without any additional artificial incentive. Another way of being able to acquire NX in-game may be acceptable, but voting is good enough in my opinion. I'm neutral on the gachapon topic, it sounds reasonable enough, but I'd like to have the gambling aspect of it somewhere - just probably not with NX. Now as for class balance. People should play the classes that they enjoy, regardless of how "competitive" they may be (while I'm currently playing a spearman simply because I felt like it for my ironman, I generally focus on unusual classes and builds). This isn't a difficult or particularly competitive game, you can get through it as any class, and I doubt that you'll be rejected just because you're playing a "sub-optimal" one. In fact, some of us prefer to play these classes BECAUSE they are unpopular. They even have their own odd advantages, like cheaper scrolls. In order to use buff mules, you'd probably have to use a second computer. It's possible... Anyway, if you insist on being "optimal", there's no room for complaining about having to do things that you may not particularly enjoy. You don't need to be optimal, nor do you need the advantage, just play the game. A buff mule is also a time investment - time which could be used working directly on your main character instead, without having to use such tricks. Personally, I do quests because I find it satisfying, and they give me a bit of a challenge or objective for a while. I imagine that was a more common mentality back in the day. Most of the time, the reward is just an extra - I do sometimes hurry to do some quests if I know they give something of interest, but I was going to do them anyway. There should be a reward, but it should not be the sole reason you do a quest. As for Big Bang maps, we'd have to specify which ones. There are some that may interfere with the old-school feel of Maple, and some (possibly the same ones) that people may favor over actual old maps solely because of the experience or drops, similarly to the problem we might have with Leafre soon. Heavily nerfing their experience and removing their drops may be some kind of solution, but we need to make sure that they don't interfere with the feel of old maple either way. There is no need to nerf anything. Playing in a party is already beneficial enough, as murdering things on one side of the map helps spawn them on another side where other party members are - that's already enough of an advantage. If necessary, 1% bonus per person is sufficient. Furthermore, forced community is not a community. You can invest in HP through AP you know. If you're a squishy class and want to insist on soloing some bosses, that's a reasonable enough investment. About 100 HP per 5 AP for non-warriors. Not tragic. You'd be weaker in damage than others, but hey, you're trying to solo bosses as an archer. Some classes are also just not designed for such purposes, and with good reason. We don't need to be "all the same" and be able to do everything that someone else can - we shouldn't.
  17. First off, I want to stress that making changes for the sole purpose of attracting more players is a recipe for disaster, and I suspect that Arnah is aware of this. I believe that the playerbase of this server prefers the feel of old maple with all its downsides and inconveniences, and wants to play it as such. Now to address these changes. The ones which I might be willing to accept are: adding all hairs and faces, the website design (which is fine as it is), very slight promotion for some unpopular maps (which has been suggested, though I have some reservations) and possibly getting NX through experience (at a very low rate; not sure how I feel about this either). Gachapon is currently missing, and I'd like to see it in some form, which I believe is also being planned. As someone who is planning on making a white knight in the future, I am against class re-balancing. Buff mules don't exist anymore, as you can only run one client at a time; that argument against them is lame anyway. Post-BB maps and buffed quest rewards definitely not. From what I've seen, people party plenty as it is, and +5% per player is way too much - aside from Holy Symbol's mechanics, a full party would potentially have a massive advantage over players who prefer to level solo. As for HP, there is always the option of investing in HP or wearing HP equipment.
  18. It sounds like your antivirus is automatically "quarantining" your exe file - check your virus chest, quarantine, or whatever equivalent your antivirus uses and restore the file + add it as exception
  19. Can it be done? Would it be enough to bring back that guy who quit? I don't know the story.
  20. I saw that the leafre patch is supposed to introduce this infernal piece of shit Whether it's that god-forsaken lightbulb that hangs over your head until you accept the quest, or that side bar thing (think that's in a later patch), I want to be able to get rid of it (without having to accept the quest; and I'm told you might not even be able to accept the quest anyway lol)

  21. can we just skip leafre lol
  22. I don't have a strong opinion on either of these suggestions, but "democracy" can be a horrible idea in most cases - to make it work well enough, if a suggested change goes against the "constitution" of the server, it must be supported by an overwhelming majority (like 90%), and the minority's concerns must be addressed. Otherwise, you carry a very strong risk of betraying or alienating important members of the community. Fortunately, this is more like a monarchy, and Arnah's will which we place our trust in ultimately carries the burden and responsibility of the server's future, even if he uses a vote as reference.
  23. wtf I was alt-tabbed but I could see my game in windowed mode, didn't see a captcha oh well whatev, it probably only happens on floor 94 anyway
  24. So I was beating the shit out of some african-american rats in eos tower, sat down on my relaxer to recover health, and then this thing showed up telling me I failed a test while teleporting me to ludi wha
