I think repeatable sauna is a bit op with the speed and all. I don't mind ppl getting new characters to lvl 30 to get the sauna, it means more interaction with new players and more ppl doing kpq. Black mountain items is 60+ and untradable so repeatable makes more sense there imho.

Phoenix is gone from the gtop100 list, voting not working either

Nexon so petty, maybe they should just fix their game since nobody wants to play it anymore and everybody plays old school private servers because that's when MS was actually good? -
Download harepacker-resurrected, launch as admin, select BMS/GMS, File->Open Sound.wz. If you wanna mute like a mob dying go to Mob.img and find the mob ID (IDs can be found easily in String.wz by searching for the mob name), then replace the Damage/Die sound with silence (Removing the node might work too). You change sound by pressing the ellipsis in the top-right->Change Sound. Then just file->save and remember to save your old Sound.wz in case you need to revert.

When new players join the server there could be a global welcome message which would make it easier for them to join in the community and feel welcomed, and have other players help them out

I made a thread about LUKless mages a while ago where I gave some ideas on solutions. One was to buff the stats on the LUK-required equips which is what OP proposed in this thread. Another was to change the MP gain formula so that it's dependent on current level rather than total INT. This of course makes no difference in damage but it removes just another reason to go LUKless. Kradia also suggested in that thread to strip the LUK requirements completely from the armor, but not the weapons, so you would use the armor to get enough LUK to equip a high-level weapon. I'd have to run the formula to check but I think just staying LUKless and equipping high-level INT armor would still give you more damage in this scenario (plus higher MaxMP). Another solution Bello suggested in that thread was to lower the LUK requirement on weapons. Of all of these solutions I think the simplest and most elegant is to buff the end-game equips with more slots. Mages would start out LUKless, gaining the extra MaxMP, and then like 70+ they'd start increasing LUK for the high-level equips.

+1 making mage equips viable seems like a good idea. i think that level 80+ equipments designed for a particular job in mind should be better than a level 30 common overall and a level 43 anniversary weapon

When you unequip the Item Pouch the pet will get stuck on an item and won't loot mesos. Also, the previous bug I reported on the Wing Boots not working for items seems to still be present.

I think one of the main deterrents for new players is how expensive potions are. You literally have to beg in FM or use the chair every 5 minutes. When I started I was actually saved by the lunar new year event and got like 500k from red envelopes which was enough funding for potions. We could have more of these types of events that rewards new players, and/or increase potion rates in the job training quests.

Agreed, important to retain nostalgia by not changing the UI too much (or at all)

It's all about player interaction, having it tradable means that net people doing the PQ would be lower, because you only need to get the right stat once and then you can trade it across all your mules or borrow it to your friends so they don't have to do it. If there's no other way of getting it 30-50 then basically all players (mules or not) will do the PQ at some point instead of solo grinding and it increases player interaction. Imagine if Zhelm was tradable, there'd be no Zakum gathering each saturday with ppl from different guilds meeting up, there'd be one guild that farms Zakum helmets and then the rest just buying it directly off the market and trading it between their mules.

The chaos necklace is better (which I assume you get from mcpq 2?) so no reason that high-levels would want the original necklace, but as in the OP you could add a 71+ repeatable quest to Spiegelmann which rewards you with the chaos necklace (If you don't already have one in the inventory).

I think we should balance the PQ so it's roughly equal to LPQ, so your choice is solely based on what you deem the most fun (PVP vs PVE). Exp rate should be about the same, and I think the necklace is just too good for lvl 30. I'd rather it be just one random stat 1-3 and the marble giving like +10 HP and MP instead. I'm also a bit unsure about having the necklace tradable, as that takes away a bit of the exclusive feel of the PQ. If the necklace is the sole reason people would do the PQ it means they'll just buy the stat they need in FM instead of actually having to do the PQ with other players. Basically I think there should be no other way of obtaining the necklace other than actually doing the PQ. If we keep it untradable we also won't have to worry about adding exchange quests and no need to add security measures against potential exploits.

The functionality for blocking a buddy from viewing your friend chat doesn't seem to be working properly. You can mute a buddy but they can still see what you type even if you blocked them from seeing it. This feature is very useful to avoid confusion in buddy chat regarding who the message was directed at. Tested here:

Pet loot bug is back, seems to be wing boots related this time and only affects non-meso items. Items can still be picked up manually or if the pet walks over it.

You're allowed to edit Sound.wz where you can remove the unwanted sound effects.

I think it needs to be lowered since EXP is pretty much useless as it is now, basically no one buys EXP unless they don't really care about the hairstyle or if they think they're gonna be lucky. I think 250 is too cheap however since that makes VIP useless, people are just gonna buy lots of EXP and use it as scrolls basically, which will make selecting a specific hairstyle an RNG game. I think there should be a bit of punishment in getting the wrong hairstyle, just like there's punishment in losing a bet.
-
EXP was always intentionally shitty to make you buy the VIP one, though I think it should be a bit of a yolo buy when you don't really care about your hairstyle so I don't think it should line up exactly with the rng, but it could be cheaper, maybe like 1k

After completing Kenta's Advice for the first time I get this infinite quest loop that gives 0 experience

Alright thanks, I've gotten some more insight on the issue now after reading Kradia's post. I tried searching for the topic before making one myself but I guess I gotta improve my searching skills. Also, for what it's worth, I've mained priest in GMS and several private servers before joining this server. I'm well aware of how OP HS is and I'm also a heavy multi-clienter if it's allowed, because it just makes everything so much easier, but I can't kick the feeling that it feels like an exploit and not how the game was intended to be played. In any case, turns out the issue was more complicated than I anticipated, so I'll just leave it there.
-
If people find priest mains boring then that to me sounds like a separate problem, and having them locked up in cs with the only purpose of rebuffing is not a solution. It shows that there's a great balancing issue in the game that needs to be worked on.
-
Just putting this out here even though it's controversial since I think multi-clienting has always been a big problem. It makes the game uninteractive and unsocial. This is a social game not solostory where you just have a bunch of buff mules instead of an actual party with real players. I get that there's not a lot of players right now and it can be hard to find a party, but I also think party exp can be buffed greatly to make it almost not worth to ever grind without a party, and this I think would increase the social activity and in turn bring more players.

-1 Down jump is silly and ruins the design of a lot of old maps. No reason to add speed to ropes either

No white scroll on peenix, suggested UI fix: Alternatively:

One of the few good additions in future MS are the maps, they might be available in later updates but I see no reason not to add them earlier. Off the top of my head: - Victoria Island: Sleepywood - Zipangu: Mushroom Shrine / Ninja Castle / Showa - Ludus Lake: Ludibrium - Lowest floor of Clocktower - Ossyria: El Nath - Dead Mine
